Work Beyond the Practice

Projects Mahlet builds and supports outside client engagements, for Ethiopia, for the diaspora, and for the communities both belong to. They are not services on offer. They are where the same skills go when the question is personal.

Dehna

Community safety app  /  Ethiopian diaspora

Dehna is a community safety app for the Ethiopian diaspora. It watches for silence: if your phone shows no activity for longer than is normal for you, it checks in. No response alerts your trusted circle, not constant tracking. If they can’t confirm you’re safe, Dehna guides them to call emergency services. Built on tibeb-inspired design and community care, not surveillance.
